Project details

Status: COMPLETED

This is an international collaborative research project involving over 14 low-, middle-, and high-income countries, with a coordinating centre based at the University of Lethbridge (https://gac-paq.com/). The research aims to develop a new app-based Global Adolescent and Child Physical Activity Questionnaire (GAC-PAQ) and determine its accuracy in measuring physical activity among 8- to 17-year-olds from the 14 countries, including Malawi. The project is being implemented in phases, including: reviewing existing physical activity questionnaire for children and adolescents; developing and translating a new questionnaire that is appropriate for assessing physical activity in children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, including low-income countries; developing an app-based questionnaire, piloting the app-based questionnaire with 30 children and adolescents; and implementing the main study with a sample of 500 children and adolescents.
