Training of central level food inspectors in risk categorization

FAO subcontracted University of Malawi – Human Ecology and Agricultural Sciences to provide a training services to Central level food inspectors in risk categorization. This worked involved reviewing the context of food inspection and food control in Malawi and FAO risk-categorization manual. Later there was a discussion with competent authorities to get their agreement and commitment to develop a training module and a training approach adapted to the Malawian context. The developed modules were used to train central level and selected district level food inspectors in risk-categorization and risk-based approaches.
