Evaluating and validating the child status index
Project details
This project was sponsored by the united states Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Child and Family applied Research (CFAR) grant. The main aim of the study was to evaluate the Child Status Index, developed by Measure Evaluation at the Carolina Population Center, and determine whether it serves as a valid and reliable measure of child vulnerability. Orphan care facilities throughout sub-Saharan Africa were using the index to assess the needs of orphaned and other vulnerable children that they serve.
