This Innovate UK–funded project developed next-generation holographic head-up display (HUD) technologies using fully complex light modulation (simultaneous amplitude and phase control) driven by real-time hologram computation. The work addressed limitations of conventional phase-only holographic HUD systems, including computational load, resolution constraints, and frame-rate limitations imposed by liquid-crystal spatial light modulators.
